Thierry Roland BABAN

Thierry BABAN is a Polytechnic engineer specialized in the design of IT solutions in Artificial Intelligence. He obtained a Diploma in Software Design Engineering in 2015 and a Master in research in 2019 at the National Advanced School of Engineering in Yaoundé, Cameroon; majoring in Telecommunications. Since 2021, he is a PhD fellow in Artificial Intelligence.
After his engineering degree, Thierry worked for several months as an IT manager at MBOATRONICS in Cameroon. He developed the embedded software of a medical device for monitoring physiological parameters. After that experience, Thierry founded GRAFIK CODE in 2017, a software development and digital communication company that has partnered with several renowned organizations such as Africa Diabetes Congress, Cameroon Society of Cardiology, Cameroon ENT Society, PanAfrican Medical Journal, MINSANTE, SFM Technologies Cameroon and many others.
In 2021, Thierry obtained a grant from the French government to do a PhD thesis in under joined surpervision from the University of Yaoundé I in Cameroon and the Institut Polytechnique (INP) of Toulouse in France. He is doind his phd thesis with the Laboratory of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics and Signal Processing at the National Advanced School of Engineering and the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (IRIT). His thesis is entitled “Contribution to the development of an intelligent system for the quantification of nutrients in meals in sub-Saharan Africa” supervised by Professor Lotfi CHAARI in France and Professor Eugène SOBNGWI and Pierre ELE in Cameroon. In 2022, Thierry obtained a contract as a Temporary Teaching and Research Associate (ATER) at the INP of Toulouse in the Digital Sciences Department.
Thierry BABAN is a research associate at RSD Institute. Since 2019, he joined the research team of RSD Institute for the project “Early Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Prevention in Cameroon Schools WDF 16/1434” where he was in charge of the development of the mobile application and the design of various awareness tools.
